I think it is because she is saving the toad from harm. I higly doubt that the toad would want to be eaten by some predator. Yes, the toad has feelings, but Winnie saved him from harm. It was a wise choice because she saved a victim from death. Plus, Winnie could drink the water when she gets older. It will always be there... ... Wait, I think that the spring might be gone. No wait. It can't be since its everlasting.

I think Winnie made a great choice by letting the toad use the water but I think she should have given it to a different person.
