Chapter 11

In this chapter Winnie seems at first to be having a good time.  She's eating flapjacks (does anyone know what those are??) and some bacon when suddenly she states "I want to go home."
-What happened?  Why do you think Winnie all of a sudden wanted to leave so badly?  (hint: read the top half of p. 57 again)

Chapter 10

The Tuck family is really growing on me.  The more I read about them the more I like them and even feel bad for them.

Why don't they have any friends?

Chapter 9

- Can you find a sentence that helps describe the sights, smells, tastes, and feelings of the Tucks home?

Chapter 7 Reflection

In Chapter 7 Jesse tells Winnie that after they realized they were immortal, they went sort of crazy for a little while.
-If you realized you could not be hurt or killed what are some things you would try to do?

Chapter 3

I really like this chapter, it made me think a lot about my house, my parents, my possessions.  I think that's one of the things I like most about Natalie Babbitt's writing, she makes me think.  Here is the question:
-How do you think Winnie's life at home compares to yours?

Prologue Question

WOW Natalie Babbitt sure does use a LOT of adjectives in the first paragraph of this story to describe the feeling of a summer day!
Below please copy one of your favorite sentences and explain why you like her choice of adj. in that sentence.

Ex:  "There is no thunder, no relieving rain."  I like her use of the word relieving because usually I think of rain as something that annoys me or that ruins a day, but she just reminded me that on those REALLY hot days I look forward to the rain, and when it comes I feel relieved.

Movies vs Books

I find that most movies made after a book really let me down, they just don't capture the characters in the book like I wish they would.   I do however really like most of the Harry Potter movies and I also like the books.
The movie Tuck Everlasting is MUCH different than the book and has a totally different ending, for that reason I am not a big fan of the movie.
Let's make this a blog about comparing movies and books of the same title.  Please tell us the name of the movie / book and tell us which one you liked more and why?  Of course other people are encouraged to write back to you and offer opinions about your choice in a RESPECTFUL way.
   Have fun!
