Chapter 3

I really like this chapter, it made me think a lot about my house, my parents, my possessions.  I think that's one of the things I like most about Natalie Babbitt's writing, she makes me think.  Here is the question:
-How do you think Winnie's life at home compares to yours?

  1. I think that compared to my life Winnies life to mine must be really bad because my parents let me go off to the park sometimes when Winnies parents who seem to always have a invisible chain on her so she does not have much freedom. So I think compared to my life Winnies is pretty bad.

  2. i think that winne's life compared to mine will be that i love trying to hit animals that i don't like with leaves or rocks but not hard!! I also think winnie's life is worse then mine because since i am so close to the school she lets me go anywhere only if i have a cellphone but i have to be in her site if i don't have a cellphone with me!!! Also what day is thanks giving?? please answer . Have a great day!!!!

  3. I think I am much more fortunate than Winnie in terms of house life, because Winnie has her parents always looking after and restricting her, while my parents give me more freedom and opportunity.

  6. Winnie has a tough life in comparison to me. I think we are all fortuante who to have parents who let us go to school, do PE or sports and all that stuff. Winnie has a tough life.

  8. Peace out. I have such a better life then Winnie. Winnie has a terrible and boring life. At least I have the luxury of doing whatever pleases me whenever I want. Plus, I don't have a mother and grandmother yelling at me to stop touching repulsive nature and to get on with life. I think that I am lucky to have parents who give me resources and are always ready to make changes that suite me.

  9. You there Wiley? I like Chapter 3. She throws stones at the toad. I also like the way the author describes this toad. Very goood use of metaphors.

  10. If I were to compare my life with Winnie's life, I would say I have a better life because I have freedom and nice parents, especially my mom, so my life is better than Winnie's.

  11. i think that my life is much less boring than winnies.... but i dont think this chapter tells enough about her really know what her life is really like. for example, just because her mom and grandma tell her not to get dirty and to come inside does'nt
necesarily mean that her parents are mean people.

  12. I know this is off topic, but
    I NEED HELP.
What did Mr. Wood tell us to write again? It was a C-R-E on something...

Sorry to waste space on the blog, but I'm desperate.

  14. I think Winnie's life is more difficult then mine because my mom usually gives me freedom to go somewhere else with my friends or something, but Winnie's parents hardly let her leave the house. After I read this chapter I felt really luck about what I have.

  15. i would feel bad for anyone who has to live like winnie because all that attention can be a little annoying, it's not like she's a baby

  16. i just thought a little about it and there is a positive and negative side that you can be everlasting...you see, its good because u get to live forever...but on the other hand, if you never died then you would be bored because there would be nothing to do since you would do almost the same thing every day!!! WOW! i wrote A LOT!!!

  17. I think her mom and grandmother really pressure her to be ladylike, and she doesn't really have a close relationship. Winnie probably just wants her mom and grandmother to lay off and give her some space to try new things (she doesn't seem like the feminine type). I am also allowed to have more freedom than Winnie says she does (i.e., I can walk to friends houses, ride my bike places, and overall go outside my front yard without my every step being monitored).
