Chapter 11

In this chapter Winnie seems at first to be having a good time.  She's eating flapjacks (does anyone know what those are??) and some bacon when suddenly she states "I want to go home."
-What happened?  Why do you think Winnie all of a sudden wanted to leave so badly?  (hint: read the top half of p. 57 again)

  1. First of all, flapjacks are pancakes. She says she wants to go home because she suddenly realizes that the reason her family was so sreious about safety was for her own good. She realizes that she is cared for her by her family. If this happened to me, I would do the same.

  2. Winnie wants to leave home because she noticed that the "invisible cage or chain" was to her benifit and saftey!!! also because she wants the good maners her family used in her house and she wants a clean bed and her own nice and neat house. If i was winnie i would just ask cry and make a seen so they would not want me and they would bring me home so then i could be back with my family again and i wouldn't be sad captured or unsafe and dirty.I first of all wouldn't have ran away from my family I love them and i have privleges like winnie but not strong ones!

  3. i agree. winnie realized that even though her caregivers were very strict she still missed them and really wanted to be with them. winnie may also be realizing that her family keeps such close tabs on her because they care about and love her.
